Eat Fruit And Lose Weight




Mmmm, warm weather, fresh fruit, light salads, swimming! What a beautiful combination for weight loss. If you've been thinking about shedding a few winter pounds/kilos now's the time. Get inspired by the bounty of fresh fruit and vegetables and do your body a big  favour. You will be rewarded with loads of energy, which means you will have some left to exercise. Double benefit!

Something about the warm weather makes people want to get out and do stuff. Picnics, Barbe-ques, going to the beach, just having fun in the sun, which gives us plenty of opportunity to be more active.

We all  know that eating fruit is good for us, but fruit is also hydrating, apart from being packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. And because fruit has a high water content, it is an ideal food for people that want to lose weight. All the melons fall into this category. Watch out for bananas and grapes though, they are higher in calories because of their sugar content, so not too many.

Get your morning Zing, with Oranges, Grapefruit, Mandarins, Mangoes, Strawberries. Make healthy low fat muffins with berries ( leave out the chocolate). Berries are very high in antioxidants. Have fruit platters or fruit salad  for dessert. Make smoothies if you're in a hurry and don't have time for breakfast. Carry fruit in your car if you get hungry, it will stave off  the hunger pangs till you get home for dinner.
