Healthier Options To Lose Weight
How many times have you sworn off fries, burgers, and ice cream treats? Too many times to count I bet. Well, give up swearing off junk food. you'll eventually cave in and risk binging when you do. So when your taste buds are craving a little junk food, just healthy-up those cravings instead so you can indulge occasionally without busting your good eating intentions. Here's how.
Perfect Pizza. More and more pizza places are offering healthier options, all you have to do is order smart. Ask for a thin crust - the thinner, the fewer calories. Then ask for half cheese, extra chicken and veggies. Just before you eat, blot any pools of extra grease with a napkin. Then dig in.
French fries. Don't even bother. They are way too high in calories. Go home and make a batch of oven fries. You can't do too much damage with these.
Better Burgers. Use lean minced beef and grill them instead of frying.
Brilliant Burritos. Soft tortillas are better than fried taco shells, so you're already on the right track with burritos. For the filling, choose chicken, beans or seafood, rather than fatty beef or pork. Top with salsa and a little guacamole ( good fats ) Skip the cheese and sour cream and Ole! You've turned your burrito into a health food.
Ice cream. Fancy vanilla ice cream can have 17grams of fat in just 1/2 cup. So go for the low-fat version. Add fruit and nuts to make it healthier.
Fizzy Drinks. If you hate the taste of diet drinks as I do and are worried about the calories in the regular soft drinks, make your own concoctions. Start with your favorite juice and add soda water. Try cranberry, orange or pineapple. My favorite is a dash of lime cordial topped with fizzy soda. Very refreshing!
