Kilojoules rule!

Morning all,

It's a beautiful spring day here in Perth.

Just before I go for a long walk by the river ( one of my favorite places ) thought I'd give you this very important information regarding kilojoules.

Now - some of you may know this already, but there is no harm in reiterating that not all kilojoules are equal... especially if you want to drop a few pounds/kilos. So here goes.

Fat, protein, carbohydrate, vegies and alcohol all have different amounts of kilojoules/calories per gram. It's easy to see that fat and alcohol can quickly add kj to your day.

Fat: 38kj/g
Alcohol: 29kj/g
Carb: 16kj/g      ( so much for the low-carb/no carb diets that abound )
Most vegetable: 0 - 4kj/g ( excluding starchy vegies like potatoes and corn )

So to me it makes sense to cut the fat and alcohol first if you are serious about releasing some weight.

To your very best health,

Have a wonderful Sunday
