Health Tip for Today

A good alternative to white potatoes is sweet potatoes. A baked sweet potato is high in Vitamin A and may help reduce the risk of cataracts, cancer and heart disease.

Potatoes have had a bad wrap for some time now with all the lo-carb, no-carb BS. Potatoes are nutritious and low in fat. It's how you cook your potatoes is what really matters.

Sure, if you load it up with butter, sour cream, cream, cheese and bacon....of course they're going to be fattening, but not if you eat them baked with a dollop of yogurt, mashed with skim milk, baby potatoes with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, garlic and rosemary are to die for.

Mix sweet and white potatoes together for a fantastic tasting mash. Or slice them up with some onions, cracked black pepper, vegetable or chicken stock and bake them till golden. I better stop now cos I'm making myself hungry. Use your imagination and keep eating potatoes....they're good for you!

To your fantastic health
